WHAT TO wear

COMFORT IS KEY!

Color or earth tones are gorgeous (gray, white, beige, green, tan). Try different kinds of texture, they look great and photograph beautifully! Long dresses are magical and look amazing in among trees or by the water. I also love the denim and white/gray/beige/cream look. 

PATTERN and COLOUR

Less patterns seem to work best, white or bright, bold colors on your little ones are always super pretty. Try to avoid tops with logos on them. Steer clear of black or dark navy etc. Pastels look really pretty too. I am always available to help over the phone with your outfit- feel free to shoot me over some photos of what you are thinking. 415 724 0519.

TREAT YOURSELF

If you have 30 minutes free before our shoot - treat yourself to a manicure. I adore closeups with your hands and your little ones hands, especially with a newborn shoot and have had so many Mamas saying they wished they had thought of it :) No big deal if not, natural is always perfection

    • For shoots with 5 or more people there will be an additional $100 added to account for all the post processing of our additional gorgeous images.

    • A 10%  discount will be offered when 2 sessions are booked together. (excluding mini sessions)

    • $100 expedited fee for images within the week

    • The images that we spend time creating are all yours to own, I may use one here and there for marketing purposes or to show off my work on my social media platform, please let me know if you wish to keep them private - I totally get it!

A LITTLE INSIGHT INTO

WHAT TO expect AT YOUR FAMILY SHOOT

THIS is what I LOVE more than anything- this guy was a little nervous at first about the whole thing so he shot a few pictures of his Mom and Dad and we were best pals

  • First of all - this will be fun - I promise! If you have a little shy one I will have them out of their shell in no time with my bag of tricks :) And if they prefer to be wrapped in your arms snuggled up to you then that works perfectly too.

  • I have met kids at every stage of their long day and have always managed to capture beauty no matter how they are feeling.

  • No stressing 😉 Let the kids do their thing. I allow plenty of time for meltdowns, snacks and poking in the dirt; some of my favorite images are of tiny people climbing trees or having found a flower and handing it to Mom. ❤️

  • All of my shoots are easy going and casual. I love candid but ask for a few posed in between.

  • Please please take your pups with you if you are lucky enough to have one.

  • If something comes up last minute, please let me know as soon as possible and I will do my best to reschedule. Sessions will be rescheduled due to rain or smoke only. Fog/overcast skies look magical in photos

SAN FRANCISCO City Hall FAQS

  • No additional photography permit is required for small wedding ceremonies at San Francisco City Hall. Your marriage license appointment or ceremony reservation covers your ceremony time. However, if you’d like a more elaborate shoot (e.g. large group photos or extra props), I can help guide you through any necessary steps.

  • Most couples book 1–2 hours of photography coverage. This allows us to capture your ceremony, family photos, and a romantic portrait session throughout the stunning architecture.

  • Yes! City Hall allows a limited number of guests, depending on the ceremony type (private vs. civil ceremony). Typically, civil ceremonies can accommodate about 6–10 guests comfortably.

  • Absolutely! We can plan a second location shoot at nearby favorites like Crissy Field, the Palace of Fine Arts, or even a hidden SF café for a relaxed, candid feel.

  • Mid-morning to early afternoon typically offers the best natural light inside City Hall. Let’s chat about the vibe you’re looking for!

NEWBORN PROPS and LOCATIONS

As you can see from my images , I love to capture raw, natural shots of your little ones, that being said I have a big bag of super cute swaddles, muslin wraps and headbands that you are free to use if you want a few ‘posed’ shots.

I have many favorite locations in the city or in Marin to choose from for our shoot but I am always open to exploring new spots so feel free to let me know if you have a special place in mind. At home sessions are wonderful as there is so much story telling to be done there. We can also meet at your home and shoot there first then wander your street or neighborhood. If you want to shoot outdoors; I have so many favorites. Baker beach, Landsend, Sutro heights park, Stow lake are just a few. Early morning light or as close to sunset as you can make it work will look best :)

I really value your time, I tend to chat away a lot but will most always be shooting at the same time- feel free to ignore me ;) I promise you won’t feel awkward and if you do just let me know and we can move on from the location or position and regroup. Please value my time, please let me know if you will be late; it is no problem at all once I have time to plan around it.

A PROMISE TO YOUR PARTNER

If you are wondering what happens at one of our shoots then just picture a fun, chatty walk through the forest or streets and many, many stops along the way when I see a pretty back drop;)

The shoot will be easy and it will be so so worth it. I have had lots of dads thank me for making the shoot so easy going and I am very proud of that. Haulie’s Dad and my own Dad hate getting their photos taken so I totally get it. I’m such a rambler that I will just chat away and before you know it the session is in full swing and we are on a nice walk create stunning images that you guys will have for a life time.

I’m honored to say that the majority of families I meet are families I have been shooting for years, I have gotten to see their kids from belly to newborn and onwards. It is so awesome hearing that kids ask about me after our session and wonder where I have gone :) (I may have one of the coolest jobs and I don’t take it for granted for one second:)
